Catalina 36 Mark II
Boat Name: Candescence
Features
The Catalina 36 MKII is a 36’4” (11.07m) cruising sailboat designed by Frank Butler. “Candescence” was built in 1997 by Catalina Yachts (United States). She is the wing keel version of the Catalina 36 MKII and has a short draft of just 1.4m allowing access much closer to shore. Powered by a Westerbeke Universal 30hp diesel engine with 900hrs on the clock.
The vessel has a great layout – there are two cabins, one forward and one aft, both with doors to separate them from the saloon. The aft cabin has a massive full beam berth and the forward cabin has a good size V berth with a custom mattress for better sleep on extended trips away. The saloon features two dinettes, both of which convert to berths, double berth to port and a single berth down the starboard side of the saloon.
The cockpit has a walk through transom, wheel steering, and an instrument cluster at your fingertips. Features squabs for comfortable seating, a fold-out table, and a spray dodger connectable to the bimini for optimal shade.
