Frers 43 – Fast, safe cruising and offshore sailing

A beautiful flush-decked German Frers 43. This is a great cruising yacht with good sailing characteristics. She has a gentle motion and was built strong for offshore conditions.

Below decks, the hardwood interior enhances the feeling of strength and comfort. She has 2 large quarter berths and a master cabin forward. The saloon has seating around a center table which houses the fridge. The 2009 55hp Yanmar engine is located under the cockpit and drives the prop through a hydraulic motor.

She is fully set up for cruising with solar panels (increase to 480w in 2023), water maker, wind pilot, bow thruster and diesel heater.

The twin spreader alloy cutter rig carries a fully battened mainsail and furling genoa using a new (2023) manual furler. The staysail and storm jib are hanked on an inner forestay.

Over the last few years, the owners have undertaken a lot of work including mast out rig inspection and new mast step (2019), rudder (2019), chain plates (2021), hatches (2018), Maxwell windlass (2023), electronics package (2022), dual batteries banks with dual solar regulators, total 780Ah (2023). fridge thermostat (2023). In 2022 she returned from the islands with a family of 4 and was Cat 1 certified for the trip.

This boat has lovely lines and is designed and built to sail well. This makes both coastal and offshore passages fast and comfortable.
