Peterson 46 – Fast Aluminium Cutter with Racing Pedigree - Price reduction
Boat Name: Yana
Features
Now Reduced to $130,000
This 46ft Aluminium Cutter was designed by Doug Peterson to be a very competitive and capable offshore racer. Williwaw won the ’78 SORC helmed by America’s Cup winning Dennis Connor before being purchased by Alan Bond (America’s Cup winner) and a favourite in the ’78 Sydney to Hobart as Apollo IV. She later competed in, and completed the infamous ’79 Fastnet race, bringing her crew safely home.
With that history you can understand why she has a reputation as a fast, safe and robust vessel, converted into a cruiser in Halifax, Canada in 2010 before being sailed and imported into New Zealand. Rigged and fitted out for shorthanded, easy and safe sailing, you can see the racing heritage in her lines. Recently (2020-2022) extensively refitted at a cost of more than $120,000, Yana, as she is now named, is ready for adventure again.
A comfortable saloon complements the well-designed galley leading forward to a large and comfortable double and heads with shower. Aft there is another double under the cockpit to stbd, and the navigation station to port. The cockpit is spacious, with ample space for 4 to be seated in comfort in the solid doghouse, the helm position is also well protected with a rigid top. The large, master, Raymarine in the doghouse, the slave at the helm, and the large TV in the saloon all provide plotter displays with AIS and Radar overlay capability.
This 46ft Aluminium boat is built strong, has been exceptionally well maintained and she is prepared to undertake any adventure. With new, in 2020, rigging, sails, electrics, and with only 4,000 hrs on the 80hp Perkins, Yana is a great buy and priced to sell as the vendor has already bought the next boat for their adventures.
“Just had $10,000 spent on maintenance and upgrades”
